Hi there.
I'm Kathy. An alumna of Michigan State University, I enjoy good design, new media, and cheering on my spartans.
During college, I spent my summers interning at ad agencies throughout the Detroit area. With stints at JWT, Wunderman, Campbell-Ewald, and DP & Company, I learned all about online marketing, which sparked my interest in everything digital.
In October 2009, I moved to Grand Haven, Michigan to begin my career as the Social Media and Cause Marketing Specialist at Spring Meadow Nursery. My job involves managing social media for the #1 plant brand in the U.S., designing ads and marketing materials, and spearheading the product launch of Invincibelle Spirit: the first ever pink-flowered 'Annabelle' hydrangea. This is an exciting opportunity for me to work in the social media arena and utilize my creativity and strategic thinking to develop ideas that will help my company grow.
It's pretty cool that I get to work in social media, but it's also a challenge with new studies unraveling each day outlining best practices and things to avoid. This is also my first time working on the client side, so I've had a lot to take in, but each day I learn something new, and I'm enjoying the journey.
